Mother’s Day Card (free template)
My little guys is not a big fan of crafts. Legos? Yes. Dinosaurs? Yes. Cars? Yes. Crafts? No. Well, maybe for 5 minutes or less.
As Mother’s Day is approaching, I wanted to do a simple craft with my son. So I decided to make simple heart cards for the awesome moms in our lives. I needed to keep it simple and fun so that it keeps his attention and he actually enjoys doing it.
These cards came out really cute and my little guy had fun making them, which is double the bonus. It took less than 20 minutes to make these. Most of that time was spent writing the cards (x3). It was a fun craft and writing practice rolled into one. Hooray!
Mother’s Day Heart Card
You need:
Paint (We used Do A Dot paint which I like because it’s clean but you can use any paint you have. Markers would work great here, too!)
Blank Card (I cut 8.5″ x 11″ white card stock paper in half and folded it to make my own)
Xacto knife
Directions:
- Download the heart template, print, and cut out the heart using xacto knife.
-
Have your little one write a sweet message in the card. You can do this after the card dries, as well. But I don’t have patience, and I wanted to finish the project in one sitting 🙂
-
Place the template on the front of the card. You can lightly tape down the template so it doesn’t move around. Paint or color in the heart. Get creative!
That’s all there is to it! Pretty, and simple enough for a 5-year-old boy’s attention span!
